Rupee spikes to 45.46 against dollar

The rupee rose by 15 paise to 45.46 a dollar in early trade on continued foreign capital inflows into local equity market amid weakness in the US currency. At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market, the rupee appreciated by 15 paise to trade at 45.46 a dollar. The rupee had ended 10 paise higher at 45.61/62 in the previous session on selling of dollar by exporters. Dealers attributed the rise in rupee value to dollar s losses against other Asian currencies and continued capital inflows by funds into domestic bourses.
